Over the years of being a B&B owner, I’ve learned that what one person or couple likes, doesn’t necessarily apply to others. And Valentine’s Day is no exception – it means different things to different people.
Over the years, here are some ways I’ve seen couples celebrate February 14th in Parry Sound.
Some couples enjoy the sensuous side with showers for two in the big glass shower of the Retreat Room, a couples’ massage and dinner by the fireplace at the Log Cabin Inn. Flowers and wine might also be part of the package. Check out 10 romantic things to do in Parry Sound for some more ideas.
Generally a visit to Parry Sound in February guarantees snow. The opportunity to enjoy a winter wonderland with a variety of activities – such as
Welcome to 2015! The weather since January 1st has certainly made up for the green Christmas we experienced in Parry Sound. We have experienced significant snowfall and cold temperatures, which means that winter sports are ready to roll!
Georgian Nordic Ski Club has over 30 kms of groomed ski trails for performance (combined classic and skate), back country and single track trails plus snowshoe trails. (Ski rentals are available). Women on Skiis is taking place on January 25th. This is an annual event that provides a day of lessons, activity and fun for females only. A few Sunday afternoons are dedicated to fat biking – or biking on packed snow trails on bikes with – you guessed it! – fat tires on the bikes!
Parry Sound is home to Snowmobile District 10 and offers over 1100 km of looping or family trails along with several Trans Ontario Provincial (TOP) Trails. The warm weather and lack of snow made it difficult to groom trails before now, but as of this weekend (January 9th) the trails are open for riding!
There is nothing like being in a small town to remind you of Christmas’ past! And if you don’t want to take my word for it, check out “Shelby, The Dog Who Saved Christmas” and “Pete’s Christmas”, two movies shot in Parry Sound in the last couple of years.
Snow or no snow, Parry Sound gets into the spirit of the season early! Official events that everyone looks forward to:
Need some time to catch your breath before the holiday season is upon us? A visit to Parry Sound in November is perfect for that! Only a two hour drive from the Greater Toronto Area, one tank of gas can take you away from the daily hustle and bustle.
Besides the trails to hike, (see What’s Up in Parry Sound October 13 – 19 Blog Post) strolling the streets of Parry Sound to check out the variety of architecture is always an interesting pastime.
Perhaps you need a little romance? How about a couples’ massage at Perfectly Pampered Day Spa and a special dinner at Bistro by the Bay or the Log Cabin Inn?
