Mark You Calendars – Saturday June 1st is the Island Queen's first cruise of 2013
Located just steps from 40 Bay Street Bed & Breakfast is Canada's largest sightseeing cruise boat. The Island Queen seats 550 passengers, and is fully wheelchair accessible. It is 132' long, 30' wide with a draft of only 6'. This allows the boat to cruise very closely to the shore, and offers passengers the opportunity for incredible views and picture-taking opportunities.
Leaving from the Parry Sound Town Dock daily, the morning cruise is two hours long and follows a route that takes passengers through very scenic inner islands and past some beautiful summer retreats. The afternoon cruise is three hours long and is the one I recommend the most to guests.
It takes passengers out to see the outer islands, which gives you some idea of the vastness of the 30,000 islands and Georgian Bay.
It doesn't matter what time of year you plan on taking the boat - it is always best to wear layers of clothing so you can add layers if you are cool or take layers off if you are warm. Always bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. (The ship does have heat for those chilly days.)
