Parry Sound has Hiking Trails for Everyone
While many people just think of Parry sound as a summer destination, there are outdoor activities to keep you active all year round. This guide provides links to on-line maps – and hard copies are always available at 40 Bay Street Bed & Breakfast.
Hiking trails abound in the area – the easiest trail is the Algonquin Regiment Fitness Trail, a 2.5 km trail that follows Parry Sound’s waterfront. It is a multi-purpose trail, which means you can walk, run, or bike it. This trail extends for another 2.5 k.m. along the shore road allowance and is referred to a “rugged hiking trail”- there can be rocks, logs and/or other items blocking parts of the path.
If you are looking for a more ambitious hike, there are two portions of the Park-to-Park Trail (which connects Killbear Provincial Park with Algonquin Provincial Park) you can explore.
A good map of on and off-road walking trails can be found at Park-to-Park Trail. Two of the most popular trails in the Parry Sound area are the Rose Point and the Seguin Recreational Trail. Killbear Provincial Park also has trails to explore.
