Parry Sound Area Cycling Routes

If you would prefer to use the two wheels of a bicycle, most of the hiking trails mentioned peter istvan cyclingon the Hiking page are multi-use and can be used by cyclists.

Parry Sound has become a member of the Ontario By Bike Network, and offers bike shops like Parry Sound Bikes who provide repairs and rentals with recommended itineraries, approved accommodations, food services and tourist attractions that welcome and provide assistance to cyclists.

Besides the routes available on the Ontario By Bike web site, you can also download a detailed map of 19 road routes that range in difficulty and distances, from 3 km to 77 km in length. Since the Parry Sound District covers a large geographical area, there are also regional maps available.

Fat biking - a bicycle with over-sized tires (typically 3.7" or larger) is available year round. These bikes are designed for riding on soft unstable terrain such as snow and sand.

Get Outdoors Parry Sound has  an agreement with Georgian Nordic Ski Club to make the trails accessible for mountain biking in the summer and fatbiking during the winter. Day trail passes or memberships are required to ride on the trails.

If you take your cycling more seriously, racing bike rentals and wheel set rentals are available through Trysport Parry Sound.

The web site Bike Cottage Country includes comprehensive information on routes throughout Parry Sound and Muskoka areas. Not only do they recommend each route based on the season, they indicate whether it is good for touring, training and/or trekking, the distance and climb it covers, as well as suggesting the type of rider that the route will appeal to.

Motorcycle Routes

Most regional roads and highways in the area are paved, making them great for a motorcycle ride. The twists, turns and incredible vistas offer bikers a variety of routes to fit their time schedule and abilities: From 7-day trips around the Bay to 1 and 2-day trips through the area, you can do it!
